Guidelines on the promotion of Decent Work and Road Safety in the Transport Sector

My commitment and experience in road safety and freight was recently recognised by the Australian Government. I was nominated as the Australian Expert at the Meeting of Experts to Adopt Guidelines on the promotion of Decent Work and Road Safety in the Transport Sector, at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.  This resulted in published guidelines, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goal to halve the number of global deaths and injuries.

Accelerating Innovative Local Transport: Community Transport of the Future

A collaborative research project conducted by the UTS Institute for Public Policy and Governance (IPPG) in partnership with ITS Australia. The research was jointly funded by UTS, government and industry partners together with the iMOVE CRC and supported by the Cooperative Research Centres program, an Australian Government initiative.

I was engaged by the IPPG to project manage and direct key research tasks - including desktop research and analysis, interview analysis and demographic analysis, and to conduct substantive strategic policy interpretation and analysis. It resulted in successful engagement with industry and government partners.

Moving More with Less the NSW Heavy Vehicle Access Policy Framework

I led this major policy reform as a Director at Transport for NSW. This Framework sets out access to High Productivity Vehicles, leading to a 30% increase in productivity, and by 2034 it is estimated that truck operators will gain $17.2 billion in cost savings using these vehicles. This policy approach has been taken up Nationally, as agreed by Transport Ministers, led by NSW.

Cemeteries and Crematoria NSW Strategic Plan

I led the project to develop Cemeteries and Crematoria NSW first Strategic Plan, launched by the Minister and published.  Blueprint to work collaboratively with stakeholders, over 230 operators, who provide internment services, to deal with strategic challenges eg. by 2036 there will be critical shortages of burial sites in Sydney.
